Baccarat is one of the simplest games in the casino because the participants, the bettors, have no independent decisions to make. All decisions as to drawing of the cards, after Bank and Player are dealt two each, are subject to rigid rules allowing no options. The rules are printed on a card to guide the players so they can follow the play of the hands. In baccarat, cards are dealt to a Player hand and to a Banker hand. Whichever hand is closest to 9 or reaches 9 wins, after the draw. If an eight or nine is dealt to one hand it is called a "natural" and wins immediately, without a draw.

BACCARAT---CHEMIN de FER as it is known in the United States, is played is most major casinos. Before 1960 it was called "Shimmy" by American gamblers. The Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas introduced a Shimmy table in early 1958, the first legalized game of Chemin de Fer in the country.
