MEMORIES OF HOT AUGUST NIGHTS

There are a number of excellent artists who paint Ponitacs today. Tim Frederick does excellent nostalgic drag and stock/modified GTO prints, Cecil Savage renders superb "the way it was" prints, and Joel Naprstek is a consummate illustrator whose work includes great moments from Pontiac racing history. However, the man who stands head and shoulders above even these fine artists is Bill Harbort. Bill works as a commercial illustrator for such major clients as Revlon and General Foods, but luckily for us, what he really enjoys is painting Pontiacs.

Bill's art is a combination of watercolors and airbrush. A majority of each painting is done with a brush and watercolors, with the airbrush reserved for skies and certain effects such as glass areas. Bill's now in the midst of a GTO series, doing one from each year. The '65, '66, '67, and '69 models are now available. His Trans Am series now includes the '79 and '80. Each edition is keyed to the displacement of the engine -- such as 389 prints for the '66 and 400 for the '69. This keeps each edition small and truly collectible. When they're sold out, that's it.

This Christmas season, I'd highly recommend that you consider a Harbort print or two. Editions as small as these sell out quickly. These are art prints, printed on heavy 80 pound fine stock paper, and limited to only 400 copies - each hand signed by the artist. These prints will certainly brighten the home or office of any automobile enthusiast, and due to its limited availability, be a good investment to boot.

Bill has done other than Pontiac Automobiles and I have included several samples on these pages. It is unfortunate that my abilities with the graphics here do not due them justice. They are all really quite amazing.
